Wake your Mac for scheduled audits
On a Mac, Damdit can wake the computer a little before the earliest scheduled audit and put it back to sleep afterwards if nobody used it.
- Turn on background audits.
- In Settings → General → Automatic Audits, turn on Wake this Mac for scheduled audits.
- Enter your password when macOS asks. Changing the wake time needs an administrator’s approval.
Damdit sets one repeating wake time two minutes before the earliest scheduled audit, on the days audits run. A monthly schedule wakes the Mac every day at that time, because macOS can’t wake on a day of the month. Projects scheduled later in the day run while the Mac is still awake.
When your schedules change, Damdit shows Update… to set the new wake time; it never changes it without asking.
After a scheduled audit, Damdit puts the Mac back to sleep only if it woke the Mac itself, nobody used the Mac since, and no other audit is waiting.
macOS keeps one repeating wake time. If you set one yourself, for example in Terminal with pmset, Damdit’s replaces it.
Waking for scheduled audits isn’t available on Windows and Linux yet.
