The health score
The health score sums up an audit from 0 to 100. It is calculated per area and then combined.
| Score | Band |
|---|---|
| 90–100 | Good |
| 70–89 | Needs attention |
| 40–69 | At risk |
| 0–39 | Critical |
The score band “Critical” is not the same as an issue’s severity “Critical”.
How it’s calculated
Section titled “How it’s calculated”Per area. Each issue in an area takes points off the area’s score. How many depends on:
- the rule’s weight: a missing page title weighs more than a title that’s slightly too long,
- the issue’s severity and how confident the check is,
- how much of the website it affects: an issue on every page costs more than one on a single page.
The area’s score is 100 × e^(−penalty / 100), so each further issue costs a little less than the one before and an area never drops below 0.
Combined. The overall score is the weighted average of the measured areas:
| Area | Weight |
|---|---|
| URL health, Accessibility | 16 each |
| Performance | 14 |
| Indexability, SEO | 12 each |
| Security | 8 |
| Forms | 6 |
| CMS data | 5 |
| Assets, Content | 3 each |
| Navigation, Tracking | 2 each |
| Localization | 1 |
Areas that weren’t measured, didn’t apply or only produce review signals don’t count. Site overview is shown with its own score but isn’t part of the overall score.
What changes the score
Section titled “What changes the score”- Not relevant issues are left out of the project’s score. Reports show the score with and without them.
- Observations in Needs review, and issues added from there, never change it.
- Scores are comparable only between audits with the same scoring method. When the method changes, History marks it and doesn’t compare scores across it.
When there is no score
Section titled “When there is no score”Damdit withholds the score instead of showing a misleading number when:
- most of the website couldn’t be loaded, or
- a core area (URL health, Indexability, SEO or Accessibility) couldn’t be measured on any page.
The Overview then says why. The issues that were found are still listed.
