A content collection has no synchronized items

Section titled “A content collection has no synchronized items”

cms.collection.empty · Issue · Severity: Low

Why it matters. An empty collection may leave a planned section without content and can indicate an unfinished setup or an unnecessary content structure.

How to fix. Confirm that the collection is intentionally empty or add the content required by the published template.

cms.item.field_type_invalid · Issue · Severity: Medium

Why it matters. A value stored in the wrong field type can fail to render, break downstream processing or make the CMS item difficult to maintain.

How to fix. Correct the CMS value so it matches the configured field type and the template’s expected format.

A referenced collection was not synchronized

Section titled “A referenced collection was not synchronized”

cms.item.reference_collection_not_synced · Coverage (what could not be measured) · Severity: Medium

Why it matters. The audit cannot confirm the integrity of a reference whose target collection was not synchronized, leaving a gap in CMS coverage.

How to fix. Synchronize the referenced collection before deciding whether the relationship is invalid.

cms.item.reference_not_in_sample · Coverage (what could not be measured) · Severity: Set per finding

Why it matters. A reference outside the synchronized sample cannot be verified, so related content may be missing, unpublished or simply beyond the current audit coverage.

How to fix. Synchronize or audit the full referenced collection before treating the relationship as broken.

A CMS reference points to unpublished content

Section titled “A CMS reference points to unpublished content”

cms.item.reference_unpublished · Issue · Severity: High

Why it matters. A published item that depends on unpublished referenced content can render incomplete information or broken relationships on the live site.

How to fix. Publish the referenced item or remove the reference from the live content.

A CMS reference points to the wrong collection

Section titled “A CMS reference points to the wrong collection”

cms.item.reference_wrong_collection · Issue · Severity: High

Why it matters. A reference to the wrong collection can display unrelated content or break template logic that expects a specific content type.

How to fix. Select an item from the collection configured for the reference field and republish the affected content.

cms.item.required_field_empty · Issue · Severity: Medium

Why it matters. Missing required content can produce incomplete CMS pages, empty interface elements or failed assumptions in templates and integrations.

How to fix. Fill the required field or review whether the field should be required for this collection and template.
